Tolu Arokodare scored his first goal for Ajax as the Dutch giants secured a 4-2 victory over Swiss club Sion in the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League playoff tie on Thursday night.
The Nigeria international began the game on the bench before coming on for Marcos Leonardo in the 72nd minute.
Arokodare made an immediate impact, scoring Ajax’s third goal in the 74th minute to put the visitors firmly in control.
The striker then teed up Davy Klaassen for Ajax’s fourth goal three minutes from time.
Arokodare will hope to put in another impressive showing when Ajax host the reverse fixture at the Johan Cruyff Arena next Thursday.
