The All Progressive Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Delta South senatorial district in last Saturday’s election, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel the result of the polls in the area.

In a statement by the former governor’s media aide, Monoyo Edon, he said Uduaghan, in a petition to the electoral umpire, alleged that the election was fraught with malpractices, irregularities, ballot-stuffing coupled with electoral violence in some parts of Burutu, Bomadi, Patani, Warri North and Isoko North local government areas.

Based on these alleged irregularities and electoral violence, Uduaghan, in the petition which was submitted at the senatorial collation centre in Oleh, called for the cancellation of the presidential and National Assembly elections in Delta South. Edon said his boss expressed profound appreciation to the people of Delta South senatorial district for their overwhelming support throughout the period of electioneering, and urged his supporters to remain remain calm and peaceful; as further directives would be communicated.

INEC had on Tuesday morning declared incumbent Senator James Manager winner of the  election.
