Former governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa has ruled his chances of contesting for any political position in the State in future.

Udenwa who disclosed this while hosting members of his ‘Redemption’ political structure in Owerri said he has taken the decision to allow the younger generation to have opportunity of vying for elective positions. However, he vowed to continue to play his fatherly role in politics in realizing the dreams of some of the group in attaining greater heights.

He extended his appreciation to those who lauded his achievements during his administration , attributing most of his successes to the team work of the Redemption group.

He said “People praised my administration but it’s not my making but the team work of all of us we had enough principle that kept us going ,my administration achieved success through participatory democracy that’s what I think Redemption meant.

“Most of you want to play a greater role in future for me I don’t want to contest any longer but many of you are still young but you have to be purposeful . I want you to keep redemption alive and take it to the next level , we were underdogs when it was established I’m happy today that we’re a force to reckon with in the State.
