Super Eagles forward and Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen has expressed his delight following his club’s emphatic 3-0 victory over Ajax in the UEFA Champions League.
Okan Buruk’s men secured their third straight win of the campaign at the Johan Cruyff Arena, with Osimhen netting all three goals in the second half to seal the victory for the Turkish champions.
“Overall, I think we deserved it. We knew what the opponent would do, and we were well-prepared mentally and psychologically,” Osimhen told the club’s official website.
“I’m very happy with the goals, of course, but I want to thank all of my teammates once again. We’ll continue to build on this momentum. I believe we’ll be very happy at the end of the Champions League campaign, and we’ll keep working hard toward that.”
… Another Gala record broken by Nigerian striker
Osimhen continues to etch his name in Galatasaray’s history books after netting a sensational hat-trick in their 3-0 win over Ajax at the Johan Cruijff Arena on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League.
Osimhen, who has been in blistering form this season, opened the scoring in the 59th minute with a powerful header from a Leroy Sané cross.
The Nigerian forward then doubled Galatasaray’s advantage seven minutes later, confidently converting from the penalty spot.

The 78th minute saw Osimhen complete his memorable night, once again stepping up to score from the spot and seal his first-ever hat-trick in European competition.
The goals took his tally to six in three Champions League appearances this season, following his strikes against Liverpool and Bodo/Glimt.
According to Opta, Osimhen became the first player in Galatasaray’s history to score a brace in two consecutive Champions League matches.
His hat-trick marks the first time a Galatasaray player has achieved the feat in European tournaments since Burak Yılmaz did so in November 2012 against Cluj.
The Nigerian star also extended his remarkable scoring streak to eight consecutive European matches for the Turkish giants.
Notably, Osimhen’s treble makes him the first Nigerian player to net a hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League since Yakubu Ayegbeni achieved the feat for Maccabi Haifa in a 3-0 win over Olympiacos in September 2002.
With this performance, Osimhen not only reaffirmed his reputation as one of Europe’s most lethal strikers but also propelled Galatasaray closer to qualification for the knockout stages of the competition.
