Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has voiced hope that his side will secure a ‘remontada’ against Arsenal this week.

Remontada is a Spanish term meaning ‘the comeback.’

It gained popularity after Barcelona defeated PSG 6-1 in the Champions League in March 2017.

PSG defeated Barça 4-0 in the first leg of the Round-of-16.

However, the LaLiga giants made history by defeating the French Ligue 1 superpowers 6-1 at Camp Nou, advancing to the quarterfinals with a 6-5 aggregate score.

Real Madrid is now in a similar position after losing 3-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last week.

The LaLiga champions haven’t been entirely convincing this season in the Champions League and needed a playoff win against Manchester City to qualify for the knockouts.

However, speaking on Saturday (April 12), as cited by Madrid Xtra, Ancelotti insisted that Real Madrid will fight until the last minute against the Gunners.

“Remontada? We will try. It happened many times. We will try until the last minute,” Ancelotti told reporters during a press conference this weekend.
