The road to the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup begins this weekend with first-round matches taking place across Africa, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria’s Falconets, owing to their impressive record in past tournaments, have been granted a bye into the second round along with 26 other nations.

In the next stage of the qualifiers, the Falconets will face the winner of the first-round clash between Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

The qualification campaign will span four rounds in total, with only four African teams ultimately securing a spot in the U20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to be held in Poland in August 2026.
