According to a News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) report, the prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on March 3 in Oye-Ekiti.
He alleged that the defendants had in their possession weeds suspected to be marijuana

Oriyomi said that the offences contravened Section 5(b) of the Indian Hemp Act 2004.
He urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him to study the file and assemble his witnesses.
Counsel to the defendants, Mr Oluwafemi Alabi, urged the court to grant his clients bail, with a promise that they would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail to the defendants in the sum of N100,000 with one surety each in like sum. The case was adjourned until April 9 for hearing.
