Two killed, 11 injured in Kaduna road crash

Two persons have been reportedly killed while 11 others sustained various degrees of injuries in a road crash involving a white-coloured truck with the registration number, TRK 647 XA and a Kaduna-taxi-coloured Toyota bus with the registration number, AUC 193 YL.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said the crash occurred at about 8 a.m. on Friday along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway by Buwaya axis located in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

Corps Commander, FRSC, Kaduna State Command, Kabir Yusuf Nadabo, told Saturday Sun that the crash occurred as a result of wrong overtaking and loss of control by one of the vehicles involved.

According to him, the families of the deceased have claimed their bodies, Seven of the injured were taken to St Gerard Catholic Hospital, Kakuri, Kaduna, while another set of four injured persons were taken to AP Smart Hospital, Kakuri.

He added that his men arrived at the scene within five minutes of getting the information about the crash, and goods were recovered after the affected persons were attended to.

Before now, lives and properties had been lost in this particular spot due to its deplorable state.
