Two players of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Taiye Muritala and Lawal Abdullhai, through their agent, Corebozzez Sporting Agency, have served a notice to commence a legal action against the management of the traditional club over their nonchalant attitude towards the welfare of the players.

According to a letter written by Oladokun, Oladokun & Co, a law firm signed by Barr. Sumbo Oladokun and made available to newsmen, the management of 3SC was given till the 30th of April 2025 to heed the demand of the letter or face a legal suit in a court of competent jurisdiction.

The two players sustained injuries while fulfilling their responsibilities representing Shooting Stars since November 2024, and the club has shown no concern for the welfare and treatment of these two footballers, who were key and regular starting players prior to their injuries.

“However, where these players noticed the nonchalant attitude of the club, they decided to treat themselves and went for an MRI scan on the advice of a specialist doctor. It was from the results of the MRI scan that the specialist gave an interpretation that both players need to undergo different surgeries before it’s too late,” the letter reads in part.

The letter further states that it was surprising when the club had been avoiding their responsibilities by giving different excuses till date.

“It is pertinent to state, however, that the season is nearing its conclusion, and the club may choose to terminate their contracts, potentially ending the careers of these players; hence this letter and the date on it.

Take notice that you have till April 30, 2015, to heed the demands of this letter by acting on the advice of the doctor on the injuries of the players. Take further notice that if you fail, refuse, or neglect to heed the above demands, we shall not have any further recourse to you than to sue you in a court of competent jurisdiction,” the letter, which was copied to the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Oyo State and SWAN Oyo chapter, noted.
