United States President, Donald Trump has said that 1,000 missiles are locked, loaded and aimed at Iran if Tehran carries out or attempts to assassinate him.

In a post on Truth Social early Saturday, Trump said, “1000 missiles are locked and loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands of more to immediately follow, should the Iranian Government act on its threat, pronounced in many corners of the globe, to assassinate, or attempt to assassinate, the sitting President of the United States of America, in this case, ME!”

He added, “Orders have already been given, and the U.S. Military is ready, willing, and able, for a one year period of time, subject to extension, to completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran.”

The threat comes amid reports that Israel shared intelligence with Washington this week alleging Iran had devised a new plan to assassinate Trump.

Tensions have also risen following attacks in the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump declared the mid-June, Pakistan-led ceasefire “over” and said the U.S. had struck more than 80 Iranian targets this week.

At the funeral of slain Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Thursday, mourners held banners reading “We Will Kill Trump”, further raising tensions.
