United States President Donald Trump has sparked fresh controversy after declaring it an “honor” to be responsible for the deaths of several top Iranian military leaders following ongoing airstrikes on the country.
Trump made the remarks in a late-night post on his social media platform, boasting that Iran’s leadership had been targeted as part of the military campaign launched jointly by the United States and Israel on February 28.
The US leader claimed that the Iranian military hierarchy was being “decimated,” insisting that several senior figures had already been eliminated since the beginning of the strikes.
According to him, the operation was aimed at crippling Iran’s military command structure and weakening its ability to coordinate further attacks.

“I feel honored to be doing it,” Trump wrote, describing Iran’s leadership in harsh terms and accusing them of supporting violence around the world for decades.
Meanwhile, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed that the military campaign was intensifying, revealing that Friday’s operations would involve the highest number of strikes carried out since the conflict began.
Speaking at a press briefing, Hegseth said American forces had deployed significant firepower and would continue sustained bombardments over Iranian territory, including areas around the capital, Tehran.
The escalation has further raised global concerns over the widening conflict, as analysts warn that continued strikes and inflammatory rhetoric from both sides could deepen tensions in an already volatile region.
