United States President Donald Trump has accused Iran of being responsible for a drone strike that authorities say hit a girls’ elementary school in the southern county of Minab, leaving more than 150 people dead, most of them students.

Trump made the allegation on Saturday while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, saying he believed Tehran was behind the deadly attack.

“We think it was done by Iran. Because they are very inaccurate, as you know, with their munitions. They have no accuracy whatsoever,” Trump said.

According to Iranian authorities, the strike occurred last Saturday when a drone hit the school building, resulting in heavy casualties. However, the circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear.

Neither the United States nor Israel has claimed responsibility for the strike, with American officials saying investigations are ongoing. Iran, however, has accused Washington of being behind the attack.

Meanwhile, Iran’s elite military force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said it carried out retaliatory strikes targeting a US military installation in the United Arab Emirates.

In a statement broadcast on state television, the Guards said the Al Dhafra Air Base was struck with drones and precision missiles, while the United States Department of Defense said it was reviewing the incident. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also maintained that the United States would “not deliberately target a school.”
