Troops of Operation MESA have rescued seven of the victims that were kidnapped by bandits on Saturday night at Yankamaye Cikin Gari village in Tsanyawa LGA of Kano State
A statement signed by Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 3rd Brigade, Nigeria Army, Babatunde Zubairu said that the troops comprised of personnel from.the Nigeria Army, Nigeria Airforce and Nigeria Police
The statement, signed on Sunday, however regretted that a 60 year old woman had already been killed by the bandits before their intervention.
The statement held that four of the kidnapped victims were still accounted for even as it noted that the bandits had withdrawn towards Rimaye following they were engaged by the troops

“The bandits fled towards Kankia LGA in Katsina State and efforts are ongoing to track their location” the statement held.
“The Commander, 3 Brigade, commended the troops for their bravery and prompt response” it added.
The statement urged members of the public to continue to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could assist the ongoing operations.
