Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have rescued two kidnap victims in separate operations in Bassa and Kanam Local Government Areas of Plateau State.

According to the statement, the operations are part of deliberate efforts aimed at denying terrorists freedom of action across the state.
The first rescue occurred at about 9:00am on Tuesday, August 25.
Troops of Sector 3 deployed within Bassa LGA, acting on credible information on the kidnap of one Mr Ndubuisi Onuigbo, initiated a search and rescue operation and successfully rescued the victim.

In a second operation in the early hours of
Wednesday, August 26, troops of Sector 2 deployed at Kukawa village in Kanam LGA encountered suspected terrorist elements during a fighting patrol.
The troops aggressively pursued the terrorists, leading to the immediate rescue of a kidnapped victim, Mallam Sambo Abdullahi, who was abandoned by the fleeing gunmen.
The statement said both rescued victims have been debriefed and reunited with their families.
The Commander, Operation Enduring Peace, Major General Maxwell Dangana, commended the troops for their professionalism and decisive posture in disrupting criminal activities and proactively restoring peace and security in the Joint Operations Area.
He also appealed for calm, caution and continued support from residents to enable troops to achieve their mandate of restoring the desired Enduring Peace in Plateau State.
