Troops of 35 Artillery Brigade have intercepted one motorcycle without registration number and 296 large wraps of substances concealed in three massive sacks suspected to be Cannabis Sativa (Indian Hemp).

Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 35 Artillery Brigade, Maj. Idereghi Akari disclosed this in a Tuesday statement.

Akari said the troops acting on strategic tip-off on the planned movement of substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa along Abeokuta – Igboora Road, at about 4:30 AM on March 1 2026 intercepted the consignment.

He said the suspect abandoned his unregistered motorcycle and fled into the dense bush under the cover of darkness.

The brigade spokesman said the recovered items have been handed over to the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency(NDLEA), Ogun State Command for further action.

“The 35 Artillery Brigade has stated its resolve to make the State unsafe for drug traffickers and other criminal elements and urged them to engage in legitimate businesses or find themselves in the net of security agencies.

“The Brigade wishes to reassure the general public and the good people of Ogun State that the Nigerian Army remains fully committed to protecting lives and properties, maintaining robust presence across the State and to prevent criminals from operating with impunity,” the statement further reads.
