Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested five suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and intercepted a large consignment of medical and other items in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.
In a Tuesday statement, the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Captain Mohammed Goni, said the arrest was made at about 1:30 p.m. on July 20 by troops of the 112 Task Force Battalion in conjunction with Hybrid Forces.
According to the statement, the suspects were intercepted during a routine security operation while transporting 491 cartons of Albe Stark 2.5% dewormer and 100 cartons of multivitamin injections for animals without the requisite waybill or supporting documentation.
A search of the vehicles further uncovered concealed medical supplies, including 32 cartons of Diclofenac Sodium Injection, 58 cartons of Benzylpenicillin Sodium BP, 6 cartons of Dexamethasone Injection, and 51 cartons of Metronidazole Intravenous Infusion.
Troops also recovered 30 units of 80-inch LG plasma televisions, 152 empty Bagco sacks, and seven mobile phones.
Goni said preliminary investigations revealed that the consignment was destined for a vendor in N’Djamena, Chad Republic.

He added that part of the concealed medical supplies was to be transloaded into another truck near the Nigeria–Chad border in an apparent attempt to conceal the movement and evade security checks.
“The suspects are currently in the custody of 24 Task Force Brigade for further investigation,” the statement said.
Describing the interception as “another significant breakthrough” in Operation HADIN KAI’s efforts to dismantle terrorist logistics networks in the North East, the military said the operation was aimed at denying terrorist elements the resources required to sustain their activities.
Operation HADIN KAI advised pharmaceutical distributors, transporters, healthcare providers, humanitarian organisations, and other stakeholders to ensure that all bulk medical, pharmaceutical, and agrochemical consignments are properly documented and, where necessary, coordinated with military authorities before movement within the North East Theatre.
The task force also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations and consolidate peace and stability in the region.
