Transparency group hails Tinubu,Akpabio for cutting down foreign trips,readmits Senator Ningi

A Non Governmental Organization (NGO) Initiative for Transparency and Justice (ITJ) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for cutting down government expenditures by selling the presidential fleets and reduced presidential foreign trips.

 

The group stated this in a statement signed by its General Secretary,Comrade Usman Muhammed Anache and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.

Anache noted that the action taken by the President to sell off the Presidential fleet which usually cost about N80billion on maintenance, should be channel to the economy development.

 

According to him, “we write to show our profund appreciation to the Senate President,Senator Godswill Akpabio for accepting Senator Abdul Ningi back to the Chamber and obeying the Court order submitted by Senator Abdul Ningi.

“The Senate has shown maturity and respect for the rule of law in peaceful resolution of the impasse that occured which led to the suspension of Senator Abdul Ningi.

“We urge all the agitators to be settled peaceful by mutual understanding and respect for one another. The Senate has shown leadership by example in this regard.

 

“We are grateful to the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for not interfering in the affairs of the Senate: this is true democracy and division of power by the Presidency for allowing the arms of Government to exercise their full responsibility”.

 

Speaking on the cutting down of Government expenditures, Anache noted that, reduction of entourage of Presidency for foreign trips, has shown the determination of the government for good governance.

He said: “we are also grateful to President Tinubu for cutting the cost of Governance by selling the presidential fleets that usually cost about N80billion maintenance fees in the previous administration and the fund should be channelled to the development of the economy.

 

‘Reduction on presidential foreign trips and reducing the presidential entourage were also worthy of commendation and emulation by States,Governor’s to reduce the cost of Governance and invest in human development.

“This indicate the fulfilment of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President,the Jagaba of Nigeria”, he stated.
