A fire outbreak at a residential building in Kabuga area of Kano metropolis has led to the death of three young persons.
A statement by Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer, Kano Fire Service disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
According to him, the deceased persons included Fatima Isyaku, aged 16, Abdulsamad Isyaku, aged 15, and Saddika Isyaku aged six, all of whom died in the inferno
The statement disclosed that all victims were rescued unconscious and were later confirmed dead by health workers while adding that the deceased had been handed over to their parents for burial.
The statement recalled that they received an emergency call from one Marwan Umar, who alerted them to the fire outbreak at the said location adding that they promptly mobilized their men and consequently swung into action.
He said that on arrival to the scene, they discovered that one building which has two apartments was on fire.”
“The first apartment has two rooms, a parlour, a toilet and the corridor on the upper floor, all of which were on fore”
“While the second apartment with one room, a parlour and a toilet from the upper floor was also on fire.”
A student of Federal College of Education (FCE), Kano, Ibrahim Lawan said the fire started from the first apartment and spread to the next.
The Fire Service regretted that inability to alert them in good time made it possible for the fire to spread to the other apartment .
