Tragedy was averted in the early hours of Friday as a 40-foot fully loaded container-laden truck rammed into another 12-tyre truck along the Lekki–Epe Expressway, Lagos.

SunOnline learnt that the collision impeded free flow of traffic in the axis although no casualties were recorded at the scene.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) stated that the 12-tyre truck had partially veered off the roadway, with its front tyre inside the drainage at Igbara by Osapa Bus Stop inward Jakande at the time of the incident.

The agency said efforts were in top gear for the recovery and evacuation of both vehicles in order to restore free flow of traffic.

“Officers are on ground managing the traffic situation to prevent further spillover,” it added in an X post.
