Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has rejected her reported inclusion in the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council, saying she is staying out of politics.

Abraham’s name appeared among entertainers listed under the party’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate ahead of the 2027 elections. However, she moved to distance herself from the campaign structure on Thursday, asking the public to disregard the reported appointment.

“I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently. I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee,” she wrote in an Instagram Story.

Her statement came shortly after the campaign council list was released by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre. The council is scheduled for formal inauguration on Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.

The Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate lists Toke Benson-Awoyinka as Director, veteran actor Jide Kosoko as Co-Director and actress Eniola Badmus as Deputy Director. Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, is listed as Secretary, while Dare Olateju is Assistant Secretary.

Other entertainment figures listed include Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri, Tayo Sobola, Bimbo Akintola, Abiola Adebayo, Remi Oshodi and Foluke Daramola.

The list also includes Fuji musicians Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Abass Akande Obesere, Adewale Ayuba, Sulaimon Alao Adekunle, popularly known as Malaika, Akorede Babatunde Okunola, known as Osupa, and Temitope Adekunle, popularly known as Small Doctor.

Despite her name appearing on the published list, Abraham said she had already made her position known and did not want to participate in any campaign committee.

The APC campaign council is expected to be inaugurated on Friday as the Lagos chapter continues preparations for the 2027 elections, but Abraham’s statement makes clear that she does not regard herself as a member of the council.
