…as China establishes new state-owned enterprise focused on data

The Chinese Government has established the China National Data Group, bringing the total number of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) directly administered by the central government to 100.
The new state-owned enterprise, according to CGTN, was inaugurated in Xiongan New Area, North China’s Hebei Province, on Tuesday.

The newly established enterprise, with its headquarters in Xiongan, will focus on developing and utilising data resources.
CGTN further stated that the SOE will act as a national platform for data services, a leader in data infrastructure connectivity and a strategic force for data science and technology innovation.
