Renowned Nigerian fashion designer Tosin Kehinde Ologun, CEO of the globally recognized brand TÁÀNWÁ has been awarded Fashion Designer of the Year at the 2024 Achievers Awards International (TAAI) that happened in Lagos Nigeria
Tosin Ologun, who was nominated earlier in the year together with others earned the prestigious honor in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the fashion industry. Through her creative designs and participation in major fashion shows across Ghana, Nigeria and other countries, she has styled notable personalities and brands, gaining international acclaim for her innovative work.
Although unable to attend the ceremony in person, Tosin Ologun joined the celebration virtually via Zoom, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the recognition.
In her words she said “This award means a lot to me and my team at TÁÀNWÁ,” she said. “It’s a reminder that consistency, creativity, and passion truly pay off. I dedicate this win to everyone who has supported our journey from clients to collaborators and to all emerging designers who continue to dream big. This is proof that your craft can take you anywhere.”
The Achievers Awards International formerly known as the Nigeria Achievers Awards was held recently in Lagos.
The event celebrated individuals and brands making remarkable strides in their respective fields, recognizing excellence, creativity and leadership on a global scale.
Other notable honorees at the event included Nollywood actress Dr. (HRM) Tayo Sobola, fashion designer Dr. Maryam Elisha and Dr. Ogenna Walter, founder of Mayi Africa, among several other distinguished entrepreneurs and professionals.
Speaking at the ceremony, the convener of the awards, Dr. Ambassador Joy Osusu highlighted the organization’s growth and evolving international reach.
“The Achievers Awards International has expanded beyond Nigeria’s shores to recognize Nigerians in the diaspora who are making positive global impact,” she said. “Our mission is to unite respected elites and organizations across the world, showcasing Nigeria’s rich culture while promoting peace, unity and development.”
This year’s edition featured multiple award categories, including the Under 40 Entrepreneurs Awards 2024 ECOWAS Youth Council Induction Awards and Prowess University (Delaware, USA) Honorary Doctorate Honours alongside the public voting segment for best actors, actresses and designers.
Other celebrated winners included Amb. Zhu Juncheng, Barr. Ivbade Osemekhian (ESQ), Amb. Mercy Alexander and Hon. Damilare Sunday Olusanjo among others.
The event was organized by GloMAY Alliance Company Limited recognized for its longstanding commitment to honoring individuals, organizations, and brands shaping industries across Africa and beyond.
