Team New Nigeria (TNN) says its National Consultation Committee will submit a final report next week detailing the group’s 2027 political strategy, manifesto and operational framework.
This comes as the movement positions itself for the next general elections.
The committee, chaired by Dawud Okanlawon, was constituted in January 2026 to chart a pathway for the movement’s political participation and national structure ahead of the polls.
TNN’s Membership Registration Committee, led by Julius Ternenge, claimed the group has built a grassroots base of about 43.6 million registered members across the country’s 774 local government areas.

The committee described the movement as a platform for youths and technocrats seeking to disrupt conventional political arrangements.
The group, however, alleged that its efforts to secure formal recognition from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have been frustrated by what it called external political pressures, a development it said has slowed its formal registration processes.
TNN’s emergence is said to be part of a broader continental wave of youth-driven political activism, drawing parallels with Senegal’s PASTEF and South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters, both of which have capitalised on anti-establishment sentiments among young voters.
Amid the registration delays, TNN disclosed that it has adopted a “unified block” approach and opened coalition talks with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), but negotiations have stalled over TNN’s demand for 25 per cent representation in the party’s internal structures.
At the same time, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is said to be courting the movement under a proposed “Renewed Hope” arrangement, while TNN continues engagements with other platforms, including the Social Democratic Party (SDP), as it searches for a viable vehicle to participate in the 2027 elections.
