The 2027 re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu received fresh political backing on Monday as the Tinubu National Frontiers (TNF) pledged to mobilise support for the President’s return to office, while describing the administration’s record in infrastructure, education and security as evidence of its performance.
The group made the declaration in Abuja when its National Coordinator, Yasmin Binta Sabeh, led members of the organisation on a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume.
The visit also saw Akume decorated as the National Patron of the Tinubu National Frontiers Support Group, signalling closer alignment between the support group and the administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to a statement issued by the Head of Information and Public Relations, Chris Ugwuegbulam, Sabeh said the group was satisfied with what she described as the transformation recorded under Tinubu since his assumption of office, particularly in the areas of security and infrastructure.
“Since the President assumed office, we have seen remarkable achievements. It is now easy for us to sleep with our two eyes closed. As the TNF family, we do not take this for granted and we are ready to work with you,” she said.
She subsequently pledged that the organisation would work with the Presidential Campaign Team to secure Tinubu’s re-election for a second term.
The Oyo State Coordinator of the group, Braimoh Adebayo, also reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to the President, claiming that TNF played a significant role in mobilising support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket in the 2023 election.
“President Tinubu is a progressive leader. As Tinubu National Frontiers, we pledge our full commitment to his re-election as President of Nigeria,” Adebayo said.
Responding, Akume used the occasion to defend the administration’s performance, pointing to ongoing investments in major infrastructure projects, education and national security as evidence of what he described as Tinubu’s achievements in less than four years.

The SGF particularly highlighted the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Road project, saying the initiatives were designed not only to improve connectivity but also to unlock economic and tourism opportunities across the country.
“President Tinubu has made significant strides in revitalising our infrastructure. The construction of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and the Sokoto-Badagry Road are developmental projects that will yield high economic and tourism potential,” Akume said.
He also cited the transformation of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as another visible example of the administration’s infrastructure drive, arguing that the scale of development in Abuja since May 2023 demonstrated the government’s impact.
“The transformation of Abuja is also clear evidence of Mr President’s performance. Anyone familiar with the Federal Capital Territory before May 29, 2023, would be struck by the scale of infrastructural change achieved within one presidential term,” he said.
On education, Akume pointed to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as one of the administration’s major interventions, saying the scheme had expanded access to higher education and attracted the attention of other African countries.
According to him, more than six African countries have shown interest in studying the Nigerian student loan programme.
“Access to higher education is no longer determined by circumstances of birth,” the SGF said, adding that the administration was also prioritising technical and scientific education as part of efforts to equip young Nigerians with skills relevant to the economy.
He said the government planned to upgrade polytechnics in each geopolitical zone to offer degree-equivalent qualifications, alongside greater emphasis on skills acquisition.
On security, the SGF cited the creation of four additional divisions in the Nigerian Army, the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police personnel and measures to improve the welfare of military personnel as part of the administration’s response to insecurity.
