First Lady Oluremi Tinubu

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu is set to deliver a sermon at the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Lambeth Palace, on Thursday, during President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to the United Kingdom.

The First Lady is also expected to meet representatives of the Church of England ahead of her scheduled sermon.

President Tinubu and his wife will be visiting King Charles III on Wednesday as part of the historic visit.

They are also scheduled to meet with Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, before travelling to Windsor Castle for a state banquet in their honour.

The visit underscores growing diplomatic ties between Nigeria and the UK, following the signing of a strategic partnership agreement in November 2024 to boost trade, security, and migration cooperation.

Key discussions are expected to cover British-backed port development projects in Nigeria and bilateral trade, which rose to £8.1 billion ($11 billion) in the year to September 2025, up 11.4% from the previous year.
