Unknown persons have vandalised the secretariat of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), and stole air conditioners and other valuables.
The secretariat is located opposite Phase Two Gate in Lokoja, Kogi State.
Confirming the incident, the state Administrative Secretary of the TSG, Hon. Musa Bakare, said photographs, banners and posters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC National Chairman and Hon. James Faleke, were pulled down and destroyed during the attack.
Bakare described the incident as unfortunate, stressing that Kogi remained an APC state with considerable support for President Tinubu. He expressed disappointment that some individuals would resort to destroying political campaign materials, noting that banners and posters did not win elections.
Meanwhile, at a press conference in Lokoja, on Friday, an APC stalwart and the state Coordinator of Win With Tinubu (WWT), Hon Sani Philips, condemned the vandalisation of the campaign office and stressed that the dastardly act will not deter President Bola Tinubu from winning his re election.
Sani Philips, who outlined the achievements of president Tinubu’s administration, said the country would soon benefit from his reformatory agenda notwithstanding the current situation.
He however frowned at one Samuel Aro, whom he claimed went to court to challenge the candidacy of Senator Sunday Karimi for the APC Kogi West Senatorial race.
He insisted that Aro voluntarily withdrew from the primary, while the ruling party duly elected Karimi.
While commending governor Usman Ododo for his peaceful disposition and especially for setting up a reconciliatory committee to reconcile APC members ahead of the general elections, he however called on the governor to appeal to Aro to withdraw his lawsuit against Karimi so that there will be seamless campaigns.
