Senator Oluremi Tinubu, governors of Imo and Sokoto states, Senator Hope Uzodimma and Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, are among the dignitaries that will grace the 25th edition of the National Women’s Conference organised by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO).
The conference, themed, “Twenty-five years of visionary legacy: Inspiring the next generation,” will be held between Tuesday, October 28 and Thursday, October 30, in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking at a pre-conference media briefing in Alausa, chairperson of COWLSO and wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, described the annual gathering as a vital platform for the empowerment, advancement and transformation of women not only in Lagos but also across Nigeria.
She said this year’s edition of the conference would mark 25 years of COWLSO’s sustained commitment to the empowerment and social development of women.
The event is expected to attract over 5,000 participants, both physically and virtually, from across the country.
Dr. Sanwo-Olu highlighted the organisation’s numerous humanitarian efforts over the years, including medical outreaches, widow support schemes and entrepreneurship programmes.

She reaffirmed COWLSO’s commitment to uplifting women and families through impactful initiatives.
Also speaking, Chairperson of the 2025 Conference Planning Committee, Dr. Olayemi Oke-Osanyintolu, revealed that this year’s event would feature engaging and intellectually stimulating sessions focused on leadership, career development, entrepreneurship, marriage and relationships.
Oke-Osanyintolu described the event as a celebration of COWLSO’s enduring mission.
“This Silver Jubilee edition promises to be engaging, entertaining and intellectually enriching. Participants can expect thought-provoking sessions on leadership, entrepreneurship, marriage, relationships and career development,” she said.
Oke-Osanyintolu added that the theme underscores COWLSO’s commitment to inspiring a generation of women, who will drive positive change across all sectors.
The pre-event briefing was attended by the wife of the deputy governor and co-convener of COWLSO, Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat, alongside wives of top government officials.
