President Bola Tinubu, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Adenike Oladiji, have called on youths and students in Nigeria and the diaspora to emulate the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Daniel Olukoya, for his exceptional contributions to academic excellence and societal development.
The leaders made the appeal during the combined 34th and 35th convocation ceremonies of FUTA, where Olukoya was conferred with an honorary doctorate in Management Science.
President Tinubu, represented by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Wahab Egbewole, praised Olukoya for his dedication to education and social uplift.
He said Olukoya’s philanthropic efforts and commitment to empowering the less privileged have set a high standard for others to follow. “Olukoya’s investment in education and his passion for uplifting society are highly commendable. He serves as a mentor and role model, and I urge others to emulate him,” Tinubu said.
Governor Aiyedatiwa lauded Olukoya for his transformative impact on lives through his personal efforts and ministry. He highlighted Olukoya’s initiatives, including the construction of a Microbiology Laboratory at FUTA, the provision of scholarships, and monetary rewards for First-Class graduates, as significant contributions to youth development.
“The award conferred on Olukoya is well deserved. He has demonstrated selfless service to humanity through mentoring, prayers, and other means. His contributions inspire young people to strive for excellence in their careers and become valuable members of society,” Aiyedatiwa said.
Oladiji said the honorary doctorate was in recognition of Olukoya’s unwavering support for education and science. She emphasised his role in fostering academic excellence through scholarships, infrastructure development, and other initiatives that have benefitted FUTA and beyond.
