The National Leader of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chike Okogwu, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to give greater attention to addressing the country’s economic and social challenges.
Dr Okogwu made the call in a statement while reacting to the President’s recent comments on political competition.
He said the government’s priority should be tackling issues affecting the daily lives of Nigerians, including inflation, unemployment, insecurity and the rising cost of living.
The ADC chieftain also highlighted the challenges facing Persons with Disabilities, including limited access to healthcare, education, transportation, employment and other public services.

He urged governments at all levels to fully implement the Disability Act and promote policies that encourage inclusion and equal opportunities for persons living with disabilities.
Dr Okogwu said the ADC supports policies that promote accessible infrastructure, quality education, improved healthcare, employment opportunities and greater participation of Persons with Disabilities in governance.
He added that leaders would be remembered for improving the lives of citizens, strengthening institutions and promoting national unity.
