President Bola Tinubu will, tomorrow, begin a two-state visit to Akwa Ibom and Rivers states, during which he will inaugurate a new international airport terminal, an aviation village, an airport hospital, major roads and other infrastructure projects before attending political rallies as the All Progressives Congress (APC) intensifies mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The President, who is scheduled to arrive in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, on Friday, November 6, will commission projects executed by the administration of Governor Umo Eno, including facilities at the Victor Attah International Airport, before proceeding to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday for another APC rally.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who disclosed the itinerary in a statement issued on Thursday, said Tinubu would depart Abuja for Uyo on Friday to undertake the official engagements and participate in political activities organised by the ruling party.

Among the projects scheduled for inauguration at the Victor Attah International Airport are the new International Terminal Building, the International Airport Hospital and the Ibom Aviation Village, facilities expected to strengthen the state’s aviation infrastructure and support its ambitions in transportation, tourism and investment.

He will also inaugurate the Airport-Okopedi Road, which traverses Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, as well as Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.

Other projects lined up for commissioning include the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort, reflecting the state government’s investments in public infrastructure, security, administration and tourism.

Tinubu is also expected to attend an APC rally in Akwa Ibom during the visit, providing an opportunity for party leaders, political stakeholders and supporters to mobilise ahead of the 2027 elections.

Governor Eno has declared Friday a work-free day in the state to enable residents to participate in activities organised to receive the President.

The declaration is expected to facilitate public participation in the reception and other engagements scheduled as part of the presidential visit.

Following the engagements in Akwa Ibom, Tinubu will depart Uyo for Port Harcourt on Saturday to attend another APC rally in Rivers State.

According to the Presidency, the Rivers engagement will mark the President’s third campaign rally since he flagged off his re-election campaign in Kaduna last month.

The two-state visit will also provide opportunities for Tinubu to interact with political stakeholders, party officials and supporters as the APC expands its mobilisation activities across the country.

Onanuga said the engagements would emphasise political unity, stability and a shared commitment to national progress.

The visits come amid increasing political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the ruling party intensifying efforts to consolidate its structures and mobilise support for the President’s re-election bid.
