President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set for a landmark state visit to the United Kingdom from March 17 to 19, aiming to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties with the UK.

Hosted at Windsor Castle, the visit will feature a ceremonial welcome, including a guard of honour inspection, national anthems, and a carriage procession, followed by formal receptions and a state banquet.

President Tinubu will meet with King Charles III and Queen Camilla before proceeding to bilateral engagements.

At 10 Downing Street, Tinubu will hold high-level talks with Prime Minister Keir Starmer, focusing on trade, security, migration management, and port development.

These discussions are expected to solidify cooperation between the two nations and expand opportunities for bilateral partnerships.

Additional highlights of the visit include a wreath-laying ceremony at The Cenotaph in Westminster to honour fallen servicemen, meetings with members of the Nigerian diaspora, and the signing of bilateral agreements at Buckingham Palace.

The programme also anticipates extensive security measures, road closures, and rehearsals for ceremonial events, underscoring the significance of the visit in Nigeria-UK relations.

This marks Nigeria’s first full state visit to the United Kingdom in 57 years, reflecting a renewed commitment to diplomatic engagement and international collaboration.
