The Cross River State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Soni Abang, has said President Bola Tinubu was taking hard decisions that would ensure Nigeria’s progress.

Abang, who is also the Executive Director, Finance of the South South Development Commission, disclosed this in Calabar during a meeting with local government coordinators across the state.

He said the economy was doing well as being attested to by international organisations, including the World Bank, saying the country was making progress.

“President Tinubu is taking very difficult decisions to ensure the country makes progress and has good outcomes. These decisions, with time, will make Nigeria become the envy of other nations. For the first time, the World Bank is saying Nigeria is on course, the economy is doing well. We are also talking about rebasing our GDP so we are making progress,” he said.

He listed the achievements of the president to include the ongoing Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway, which is taking shape, the Calabar-Makurdi Highway, as well as the drastic reduction in the prices of foodstuff.

He tasked the coordinators to explain the president’s achievements to the people with facts to make them understand the need to support the president to ensure he succeeds.

He also mandated the coordinators to  showcase the efforts of the state Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, who is transforming the state, saying he is proud to be associated with the governor for his development strides.

Also speaking, Emmanuel Ironbar, the Chief of Staff to the Cross River State governor, expressed confidence in the capacity of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.

He said they have a track record of service, discipline and will make the state proud as they look forward to the 2027 elections.
