President Bola Tinubu has sympathised with traders affected by Thursday’s fire incident in Karu Market and urged caution and adherence to essential safety measures to forestall a recurrence.

This is contained in a statement signed by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale on Friday.

Daily Sun reported that a Thursday fire incident occurred at the Karu Market in the Federal Capital Territory, destroying properties running into millions of naira.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire, which ravaged a large section of the popular market, may have been caused by an electrical surge.

In Friday’s statement, the President expressed “deep sadness” over the incident.

“President Tinubu extends his heartfelt sympathies to all the traders affected by this distressing incident and assures them of his administration’s full support.

“The President urges caution and adherence to essential safety measures to prevent fire outbreaks and other accidents,” the statement reads.
