• As FEC honours late Ogwu with a minute’s silence
From Juliana Taiwo-Obalonye, Abuja
President Bola Tinubu, yesterday, presided over the swearing-in of Aminu Yusuf as Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), alongside two newly appointed NPC commissioners and five former federal directors elevated to permanent secretary status.
The ceremony took place at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, shortly before the Federal Executive Council (FEC), convened behind closed doors.
Yusuf, confirmed by the Senate in October, pledged to prioritise transparency and credibility in delivering Nigeria’s next national population census, a critical task for governance and planning. The two commissioners sworn in with him represent their respective states, further strengthening the composition of the NPC.
