President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Reuben Abati, celebrated journalist and former presidential adviser, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
In a statement he personally signed, the President described Abati as a distinguished public intellectual whose career spans academia, journalism, broadcasting, and government service.
He highlighted Abati’s contributions as a university graduate assistant, Chairman of The Guardian’s Editorial Board, columnist, author, and TV anchor known for his insightful commentary.
President Tinubu commended Abati’s tenure as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to former President Goodluck Jonathan, underlining his patriotism and versatility in addressing national issues across traditional and social media platforms.

The President also celebrated the release of three books presented by Abati on his birthday: “Portraits: People, Politics and Society,” “A Love Letter and Other Stories,” and “How Goodluck Jonathan Became President.”
Joining the Nigerian Union of Journalists, the Nigerian Guild of Editors, family, and friends, President Tinubu prayed for Abati’s continued health, long life, and inspiration in his service to Nigeria and humanity.
The President affectionately referred to him as “Rubi Rubi,” wishing him a happy birthday and success in all future endeavours.
