President Bola Tinubu, Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, business mogul and chairman of Oranto Group, Prince Arthur Eze and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have all congratulated Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as an affirmation of Soludo’s visionary and transformational leadership.

President Tinubu in a statement, yesterday, noted that “the overwhelming victory Soludo recorded in Saturday’s poll has now made him the third governor in the state’s political history to win a second term.”

He also commended the peaceful conduct of the election by the people of Anambra State, security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Tinubu said: “Governor Soludo, the Solution, has demonstrated that, indeed, knowledge is power and that academic principles can be applied in serving the people, undergirding accountability, transparency and prudent management of people and resources.”

He highlighted his visit to Anambra State earlier in May, recalling when he inaugurated some projects executed by the Soludo administration and described the experience as remarkable and indelible.

He praised Soludo for bringing discipline, grace, brilliance and a fresh perspective to governance in Anambra, adding that under his leadership, Anambra is living up to its motto as the ‘Light of the Nation.’

On the political atmosphere, Tinubu urged the governor to be magnanimous in victory and to seek the cooperation of his opponents in the just-concluded elections.

He assured Soludo of his unwavering support and expressed eagerness for continued collaboration between Anambra State and the Federal Government.

The President also acknowledged the performance of the opposition party, saying, “The victory of the opposition All Progressives Grand Alliance in the election, again demonstrates the vitality of our political system and the fact that victory for any progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be encumbered or denied.”

The President praised the efforts of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) under its new chairman, Joash Amupitan, calling the election credible and encouraged the commission to further improve its standards to strengthen Nigeria’s electoral system.

Tinubu concluded his remarks by reaffirming his commitment to support Governor Soludo’s administration and the people of Anambra State as they continue on their development path under ‘a visionary leadership.’

Oh his part, Gov Nwifuru, in a statement, described Soludo’s victory at the poll as an endorsement of his sterling performance in his first term in office

“On behalf of the government and the good people of Ebonyi State, I heartily congratulate Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, on his well-deserved victory at the November 8, 2025 Anambra State gubernatorial election.

“Professor Soludo, your victory at the polls is a clear confirmation of the confidence the people of Anambra State have in your visionary leadership, intellectual depth and tireless commitment to the progress of Ndigbo and the Nigerian nation at large.

“My dear Prof, I am confident that your re-election will further consolidate the democratic ideals, good governance principles and Igbo-centric ideology.

“As a fellow governor and brother in the service of our Igbo region and Nigeria, I look forward to deeper collaboration between Anambra and Ebonyi states in our shared pursuit of regional integration, economic transformation and the upliftment of our people,” the Governor said.

In the same vein, Arthur Eze, in a congratulatory message, described Soludo’s victory in all the 21 local government areas of the state as a ‘loud testament’ to the governor’s impactful leadership and people-oriented governance during his first term in office.

“Your overwhelming and resounding victory in all the 21 local government areas of the state is a loud testament that your administration, in the last four years, has greatly impacted positively on the lives of Anambra people,” he said.

He commended Soludo for his remarkable achievements across various sectors, noting his strides in road infrastructure, education and healthcare delivery, which he said have reached every corner of the state.

Eze further lauded the governor for bringing governance closer to the people, describing him as God-sent to emancipate Ndi Anambra.

“You have, indeed, brought governance to the doorsteps of the people and have shown that government is about the people,” he added.

Reflecting on Soludo’s sterling record of public service, he highlighted his past roles as a banker, economist, former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and member of the Presidential Economic Advisory Committee, saying the governor had always demonstrated excellence, integrity and commitment to results.

“Your overwhelming mandate is a testament to the trust and confidence the people of Anambra have in your leadership and vision for the state,” he stated.

He expressed confidence that Soludo’s second term would consolidate on the gains of his first administration and further accelerate the development of Anambra State.

He also pledged his continued support for the governor’s efforts to achieve a prosperous and developed state.

“I am confident that you will continue to drive the state forward, building on the achievements of your first term. This re-election victory will no doubt spur you to do more for the people,” he said.

However, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Okpara, in a statement, yesterday, said with 73 percent of the total votes cast and victories in 98 percent of the 326 electoral wards across the state, Ndi Anambra have once again delivered a clear, unequivocal and overwhelming mandate, affirming their trust in Soludo’s visionary leadership, bold reforms and unwavering commitment to building a liveable and prosperous homeland.

He said the landslide triumph was not merely an electoral outcome but a referendum on performance, a celebration of progressive governance and a reaffirmation of APGA as the true political identity of Ndi Igbo and the custodian of Anambra’s development aspirations.

The party extended appreciation to President Tinubu for ensuring an atmosphere of peace, fairness and national responsibility throughout the electoral process and also commended the INEC for conducting a transparent and credible election that reflects the will of the people.

“We equally recognise the professionalism and vigilance of the security agencies, whose presence and conduct guaranteed a peaceful and orderly exercise across the state. Sadly, we mourn the death of one of our members, Mr. Francis Onyeka Ibe, the Councillor of Owerre-Ezukala and leader of the Orumba South Council, who was shot dead by criminal gunmen, yesterday, shortly after casting his vote. We pray for the peaceful repose of his soul and call for the speedy arrest and prosecution of his killers.

“Most importantly, we thank the good people of Anambra State; the voters whose courage, patience and patriotic participation ensured that democracy triumphed. You are the true winners of this election.

“In the true APGA spirit of ‘Onye aghana nwanne ya,’ we urge all candidates and political parties that participated in the election to accept Soludo’s olive branch and join hands with him to consolidate peace, accelerate development and strengthen the foundations of good governance.”

He described elections as moments of contest while nation-building is a continuous collective duty, noting that the task ahead required unity, maturity and shared purpose.

“As Soludo embarks on his second term, APGA reiterates its commitment to providing leadership that works for all; building institutions, deepening democracy, expanding economic opportunities, and safeguarding the future of every Anambra son and daughter. This victory marks a new chapter. Together, we shall build an Anambra that is liveable, prosperous, globally competitive and exemplary in governance,” the party said.
