Ahead of the national rollout of the Federal Government’s flagship Ward Development Programme, President Bola Tinubu has appointed Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as the Renewed Hope Ambassador.
The announcement, made through a statement issued by Special Adviser on information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, places Uzodimma at the forefront of promoting the administration’s reform agenda and political engagement.
In this newly created role, Uzodimma will serve as the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation, working closely with All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and fellow governors. The governor, who also chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, is charged with fostering harmony and strategic coordination within the party while mobilising support for the Tinubu administration’s policies.

President Tinubu, who assumed office in May 2023, has tasked Uzodimma with evangelising the party’s “Renewed Hope” message nationwide, highlighting key achievements such as the steady easing of inflation to 16.05 percent in October, stabilisation of the exchange rate, and a significant boost in foreign exchange reserves now exceeding $46 billion.
The administration’s strides in attracting foreign direct investment, diversifying the economy beyond oil and gas into solid minerals, and expanding access to education through a liberal loan policy benefiting over 700,000 students further underscore the positive momentum.
The statement said President Jonathan expects that Uzodimma, alongside other APC governors designated as Ambassadors of Hope, will intensify grassroots awareness and ensure Nigerians fully appreciate the government’s milestones.
This appointment signals a strategic push to consolidate political cohesion within the APC while amplifying the government’s narrative on economic recovery and social development as the 2027 elections approach.
