PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has appointed Wasiu Olanrewaju Smart as his Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters for the House of Representatives, the State House announced yesterday.
The appointment, which takes effect immediately, fol- lows the resignation of Ibrahim Olanrewaju, who stepped down to pursue an elective position in his home state, a statement signed by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga said. Olanrewaju Smart joins the Presidency from his role as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Intergovernmen- tal Affairs, a post he held from October 2023 until the new assignment.
According to the State House statement, the 40 year old appointee holds a PhD in Educational Management from Lead City University and a Master’s in Public Ad- ministration from Harvard University. He is an Edward S. Mason Fellow in Public Policy at the Harvard Ken- nedy School, a LEAPS Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and holds a professional diploma in Public Relations from the London School of Public Re- lations. He was also a Policy Fellow at Quantum Alliance AI, USA, where he focused on AI and civic technology.
