President Bola Tinubu has held a strategic meeting with the Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, to explore ways to end insecurity and create an enabling environment for investment in the state.
The meeting was held on Thursday following an invitation from the Presidency, shortly after Tinubu met with governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, discussions focused on the current state of security, the economy and politics in Zamfara.
The statement disclosed that Tinubu reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to increasing troops’ presence and enhancing support to ensure peace and sustainable economic prosperity in the state.

“The focus of the meeting was the security situation in Zamfara, particularly highlighting successes achieved so far and identifying areas requiring improvement to facilitate the return of peace.
“The President stressed his commitment to providing full support to the Zamfara State Government, including deploying more troops and essential equipment to guarantee smooth operations.”
Governor Lawal also briefed the President on Zamfara’s economic growth, particularly the rise in Internally Generated Revenue, and discussed avenues for increased federal support.
“President Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to continued support, including exploring federal resources and programmes that could enhance local industries and create job opportunities in Zamfara,” the statement added.
