President Bola Tinubu, former president Goodluck Jonathan, and Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno are dignitaries expected to feature at the launch of former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah’s biography in Abuja.

A former media adviser to the governor and one of the planning committee members, Dr Udeme Nana, who disclosed this at a media briefing in Uyo at the weekend, said the book launch would coincide with the 87th anniversary celebration of the former governor.

Nana also disclosed that President Bola Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio would also grace the occasion as special guest of honour and guest of honour respectively, while the state governor, Umo Eno, would be the chief host.

“Today, I want to formally announce on behalf of the Central Planning Committee for the launch of the biography of his Excellency, Architect Obong Victor Attah, who by the grace of God will turn 87 on Thursday, 20th November this year.

“And so, on that date, he will formally present what may be described as his biography. And the title of the biography is Attah: Architect of a New Democratic Dawn.

“The chairman of that occasion will be no less a personality than the former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, his Excellency, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. And the sitting President, who incidentally was one of the colleagues of Obong Victor Attah, will be the special guest of honour.

“The Senate President has been invited also as a special guest on that day. And the sitting governor, Umo Eno, another successor by protocol, is the chief host.”

Nana, who is the founder of Uyo Club, said the book is written by a veteran journalist, Dr Dele Sobowale of the Vanguard Newspapers, which chronicled the life and times of the former governor.

According to him, “The book is written by a veteran journalist in the stable of the Vanguard Newspaper, Dr Dele Sobowale, who has been on the job of putting together this book for the past 14 years. Finally, the book is ready and will be presented to the public.”

He described the governor as one of the best presidents that Nigeria never had, adding that Attah would have turned the fortunes of the country around if he had been given the opportunity to rule the country.

He said, “Since the advent of democracy in 1999, I said if he had become the president of Nigeria, Obong Attah would have turned the fortunes of this country around for good, sustainably.

“Obong Attah is a consummate patriot. Obong Attah is a deep thinker. Obong Attah is very knowledgeable. Obong Attah is very creative, very cerebral, very versatile. He’s very cerebral, very knowledgeable. And Obong Attah is very hard working.”
