Early on Sunday morning, President Bola Tinubu landed in Abu Dhabi to take part in the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW). The UAE’s Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, welcomed President Tinubu upon his arrival at 2:14 a.m. local time.

At this year’s ADSW summit, which has as its theme “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress”, President Tinubu will showcase Nigeria’s reforms and accomplishments in the areas of economic development, public health enhancements, transportation modernisation and energy sufficiency.

His attendance demonstrates Nigeria’s dedication to using collaborative and sustainable methods to address global issues.

In order to improve ties and explore potential for cooperation, the President is anticipated to have bilateral talks with UAE officials during the summit.

In the President’s delegation are prominent officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar. He will arrive back in Nigeria on Thursday, 16 January.

At ADSW 2025, a globally recognised event for sustainability innovation, business executives and civil society representatives unite to drive sustainable development and economic progress.

Over 15 years, the summit has established itself as an important platform for forging partnerships and promoting important initiatives in global development and renewable energy.
