The Presidency has allayed fears surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s health after he stumbled and fell during an official welcome ceremony in Ankara, Turkey.
The incident which occurred while Tinubu walked alongside Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoan, was captured in a video and went viral on social media, eliciting varied reactions from members of the public.
Officials who were nearby quickly stepped in and assisted the Nigerian leader to get back on his feet. The ceremony continued afterwards without further incident.

When contacted at the time, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, said: “The President is currently addressing the press; he is fine.”
Additionally, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, posted on his X page, “President Tinubu in great shape as state visit proceeds smoothly.
“President Tinubu, after a stately welcome ceremony in Ankara, proceeded to scheduled bilateral meetings with President of Turkey and other senior government officials from both countries. @officialABATi.”
