Makinde, a second-term Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor, remains a focal point in political discourse after hinting at a potential 2027 PDP presidential bid. During a recent media chat in Ibadan, he voiced regret over backing Tinubu in the 2023 election, saying the outcome had “fallen short of the expectations of Nigerians.” He added that his support “did not deliver the results I had hoped for.”
Meanwhile, Mutfwang’s recent defection from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) makes this his first meeting with the president since switching parties.
