Commends Gombe governor’s leadership, role in Northern Governors’ Forum

President Bola Tinubu has commended Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF), Muhammadu Yahaya, for what he described as transformative achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture and industrialisation.
Tinubu, in a goodwill message to Yahaya on his 65th birthday, particularly highlighted the governor’s construction of more than 900 kilometres of roads across all 11 Local Government Areas of Gombe State and the establishment of functional Primary Healthcare Centres in all 114 wards of the state.
According to a statement issued by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President said the achievements demonstrated Yahaya’s commitment to placing the people at the centre of governance and development since assuming office in 2019.
He also commended the governor’s interventions in education, noting that hundreds of classrooms had been built or renovated, while legacy secondary schools were upgraded across the state.
In the health sector, Tinubu cited the Go-Health project, which he said had provided impactful interventions for vulnerable populations, alongside the expansion of primary healthcare infrastructure across the state.
The President further noted Yahaya’s efforts to promote industrialisation, agriculture and ease of doing business through projects including the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park and the Agro-Livestock Development Zone.

Tinubu said the initiatives reflected what he described as Yahaya’s vision for transforming Gombe and improving opportunities for its residents.
Beyond Gombe, the President commended Yahaya for his leadership of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, particularly his efforts to build consensus and strengthen cooperation among governors in the region.
According to Tinubu, Yahaya has used the platform to promote regional collaboration on security, education and economic development, thereby contributing to the collective progress of Northern Nigeria.
The President described Yahaya as a “pragmatic progressive” and committed partner in the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration.
He said the governor’s governance approach had continued to place the welfare and development of the people at the centre of public policy.
Tinubu joined Yahaya’s family, friends and political associates in celebrating his 65th birthday and prayed that Almighty Allah would grant him continued good health, wisdom and strength for many more years of service to Gombe State and Nigeria.
