President Bola Tinubu has commended Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda for demonstrating inclusive governance and prioritising security, education and agriculture in the state as he marks his 57th birthday.

Tinubu, in a congratulatory message issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described Radda as a committed progressive, seasoned economist and grassroots administrator whose career in public service has continued to inspire young Nigerians.

The President particularly praised the governor for taking the state’s budget consultations to all 361 wards, allowing residents in each ward to determine their priority projects.

He said the approach had redefined inclusive governance and demonstrated the importance of listening to citizens in the development process.

“Governor Radda has shown that leadership is about listening to the people. By taking budget consultations to all 361 wards of Katsina State and ensuring that every ward chooses its priority project, he has redefined inclusive governance,” Tinubu said.

He noted that since assuming office on May 29, 2023, Radda had demonstrated “uncommon courage, focus, and empathy” in confronting some of Katsina’s most pressing challenges, particularly insecurity and poor educational outcomes.

Tinubu also linked Radda’s investments in security, education and agriculture to the objectives of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“His investment in security, in education as a weapon against poverty and insecurity, and in agriculture as the mainstay of his people, aligns perfectly with our Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.

The President highlighted Radda’s previous public service experience, including his tenure as Chairman of Charanchi Local Government, Chief of Staff at Katsina Government House and Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).

According to Tinubu, Radda’s combination of grassroots experience and technocratic competence provides a model for transformative leadership.

The President prayed for the governor to be blessed with many more years in good health, wisdom and strength to continue serving Katsina State and the nation.

He also urged Radda to remain committed to promoting peace, development and the welfare of vulnerable members of society.
