President Bola Tinubu has commended Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal for what he described as a multi-sectoral approach to governance, saying the governor’s investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare and industrialisation were laying the foundation for holistic development in the state.
The president, in a birthday message to Governor Lawal, who marked his birthday on September 2, described him as a “Renaissance governor” whose administration had brought positive change to Zamfara.
Tinubu particularly praised Lawal’s infrastructure and urban renewal programmes, as well as his efforts to promote industrialisation in the state.
The president also highlighted the governor’s investments in human capital development, noting that his administration had gone beyond physical infrastructure to rehabilitate more than 800 schools, recruit over 2,000 teachers, upgrade hospitals and provide medical supplies across the state.
According to Tinubu, in a statement issued by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the breadth of the interventions reflected the kind of well-rounded development required to transform society and improve the lives of citizens.
The president, who described himself as a strong proponent of comprehensive development, said Governor Lawal’s multi-sectoral approach was the right path towards achieving holistic development, particularly through sustained investment in human capital.

Tinubu’s commendation comes amid continuing efforts by the Zamfara State Government to address challenges in critical sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure and economic development.
The president said Lawal’s development initiatives had contributed to positive changes in Zamfara, describing the governor’s leadership as one focused on rebuilding and repositioning the state.
As Governor Lawal marked another birthday, Tinubu joined his family, friends, and the people of Zamfara State in celebrating him.
The president wished the governor good health and renewed strength as he continued to serve Zamfara State and the country.
