In a statement issued on Monday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu joined Gambo’s family, friends, and associates in celebrating the distinguished officer. The President commended Gambo’s career, which was marked by “discipline, professionalism, and exemplary service.”
The 21st indigenous Chief of Naval Staff from 2021 to 2023, Gambo’s tenure of over three decades included roles aboard vessels such as NNS Ambe, NNS Damisa, and NNS Ayam, as well as serving as Nigeria’s Defence Attaché in Luanda, Angola.
