President Bola Tinubu has celebrated the birthday of Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) Chairman, Zacch Adedeji, commending his unwavering dedication, particularly in achieving the historic feat of meeting the 2025 budget targets in the third quarter.
The praise came in a State House statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. President Tinubu spotlighted Adedeji’s “visionary and charismatic dedication” in restructuring the 83-year-old agency, introducing fresh ideas, embracing global best practices, automating systems, and upskilling staff to boost Nigeria’s revenue profile and economic prosperity.
“I salute the NRS Chairman for his visionary and charismatic dedication in restructuring, aligning and managing the revenue profile of the country,” Tinubu stated. “He recorded a historic achievement, meeting the budget targets in the third quarter of 2025, and stimulating the economy for prosperity.”

The President further lauded Adedeji’s instrumental role in rolling out the National Single Window, a groundbreaking federal digital platform. “Zacch has also been instrumental in the adoption of the National Single Window, a transformative federal digital platform to streamline import and export processes, enhance transparency and reduce cargo clearance from 21 days to one week,” Tinubu remarked.
With a track record that includes senior roles at Procter & Gamble; serving as Oyo State Commissioner of Finance; Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council—where he established the National Sugar Institute—and Special Adviser to the President on Revenue, Adedeji took the NRS helm in September 2023.
Tinubu prayed for divine blessings: “The Almighty God will grant the NRS Chairman more years of good health, wisdom and strength to keep serving the nation.”
