Support groups of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have intensified mobilisation for his re-election in 2027, launching grassroots campaigns in Kano and Ondo states and directing their members to take the President’s second-term message to communities, villages and households.
In Kano, the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) inaugurated its national structure and state executive committees, while in Ondo, the Battalions for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commenced a door-to-door and house-to-house campaign across the state’s 18 local government areas.
The groups said their mobilisation would focus on what they described as the achievements of the Tinubu administration, particularly its economic reforms, infrastructure projects and social intervention programmes, which they argued should earn the President another four years in office.
At the inauguration of TSG’s national and state structures at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano, its Director-General, Umar Tanko Yakasai, charged officials to immediately begin vigorous grassroots mobilisation for Tinubu.
“Let me inform our newly inaugurated national and state officials that the work starts from today, no resting, no lazing around.
“We should work hard to do more than what our founding leaders did by campaigning vigorously at the grassroots and delivering President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential elections.”
Yakasai said the organisation would build on the foundation laid by its founder and convener, James Abiodun Faleke, whom he credited with spearheading the early movement for Tinubu’s presidential ambition.
Yakasai said TSG members across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory had been given the responsibility of taking the campaign to the grassroots and building support for the President’s re-election.
He argued that Tinubu inherited a “shattered and battered economy” but had succeeded in stabilising it, citing growth in foreign reserves, declining inflation and improvement in Gross Domestic Product as evidence of progress.
The TSG DG also listed the clearance of over $7 billion in loans and an additional $3.5 billion COVID-19 loan, increased allocations to states through the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), local government financial autonomy and creation of additional regional development commissions among the administration’s achievements.

He highlighted federal infrastructure projects in Kano, including the Kano-Kaduna Expressway and ongoing road projects linking Gwarzo, Katsina and Daura.
Yakasai also commended Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, describing him as a strong supporter of Tinubu and expressing confidence that the President would record a “resounding victory” in Kano in 2027.
He dismissed the chances of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) defeating Tinubu in the state.
In Ondo, the Battalions for President Bola Tinubu said it had begun an extensive mobilisation drive designed to take the President’s re-election campaign to towns and villages through direct engagement with voters.
The campaign, sponsored by Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and led by the group’s Commander, Temitope Iwagun, brought together members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the state’s 18 local government areas.
Speaking at the unveiling, Iwagun said the group decided to back Tinubu because of what it considered the positive impact of his administration’s reforms on the economy and Nigerians. “We are not supporting President Tinubu just because he is a politician, but because he is doing well. We are showing our capacity. We want to show them that we know that to demonstrate capacity in politics, you must make sure that you have grassroots mobilisation. And that is what we are replicating.”
Iwagun said the campaign would be taken directly to voters through door-to-door and house-to-house mobilisation across the state.
She also criticised the ADC presidential candidate over his reported promise to reintroduce fuel subsidy, maintaining that the subsidy removal policy had come to stay.
Secretary-General of the Asiwaju Mandate Group, Oladele Olugbemi, urged members and other supporters of the President to intensify grassroots mobilisation and work towards securing his re-election.
Olugbemi said the administration had introduced initiatives that were positively affecting Nigerians across different sectors and urged voters to support its continuation.
He maintained that a second term would give Tinubu an opportunity to consolidate the administration’s ongoing programmes and economic reforms ahead of 2031.
