The Tinubu Support Group (TSG) has launched a grassroots mobilisation drive across the six South-South states to canvass support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The group has appointed Senator Eteng Williams as its Deputy Director-General for the South-South, with a mandate to coordinate the campaign across the region.
Eteng, who represents Cross River Central in the National Assembly, disclosed the mobilisation plan in Calabar while fielding questions from journalists following his appointment.
He said the group would take its campaign door-to-door and community-to-community across local government areas and states in the region once electioneering begins.
According to him, projects and interventions by the Tinubu administration in the South-South would form a major plank of the mobilisation campaign.

Eteng cited the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Calabar-Itu Highway, which he said had remained unresolved by successive administrations for more than 15 years.
“As I speak with you, we are back to the good old days where you can drive from Calabar to Akwa Ibom within one hour and 30 minutes. All thanks to the President’s untiring efforts to end commuters’ years of suffering on that highway.”
He also listed the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, establishment of a regional development commission and interventions in agriculture and empowerment among projects and programmes the group would highlight in seeking support for Tinubu.
Eteng said the TSG would intensify mobilisation across the region and engage relevant political and community stakeholders ahead of the election.
His appointment was conveyed in a letter dated September 19 and signed by the convener and founder of TSG, James Faleke.
As Deputy Director-General, Eteng is expected to coordinate the group’s activities across the South-South, engage stakeholders and promote the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
